Many people are interested in Kickboxing + Boxing classes and we are often asked the question, “What should I expect on my first day of class?” This blog should help put your mind at ease and prepare you for a great Kickboxing + Boxing workout.
The goal of the Kickboxing + Boxing class is to inspire, not intimidate. Your fitness goals and success are the number one priority and we want you to succeed. Kickboxing + Boxing is a fast-paced class so be prepared to feel a little clumsy and lost at first. Don’t worry, you’ll learn the moves! Even if you're a highly conditioned runner or you've been doing step aerobics for years, these moves are new to your body. Your muscles need time to develop a "memory" of the moves. By the second or third Kickboxing + Boxing class, the awkwardness will start to dissipate and you’ll be punching and kicking like a pro! Be prepared to have a lot of fun. The music is upbeat and everyone in the class contributes to a motivating, high-energy workout. Expect to sweat. After all, it’s a workout and you want to end the class feeling challenged and excited to continue. You’ll come for the workout and stay for the fun.
You’ll want to wear comfortable, cool workout clothes to Kickboxing + Boxing class. You’re going to sweat in Kickboxing + Boxing class so make sure you are comfortable in your workout clothes. Wear well-made athletic shoes that aren’t too worn. Definitely bring water to help you stay hydrated.
